There are many different toolbars in Act!, each allowing you to filter, sort, or edit your database in any number of different ways. This month, we’ll be looking at the tools available to you in any Detail View in Act!, whether it’s contacts, companies, or groups. In any tab in the Detail View, we can see this toolbar in the middle of the screen. While the specific options shown might change whether you’re looking at activities, histories, notes, etc., they all let you sort and filter the information belo

All the main Company Detail View tabs, that being Activities, Opportunities, History, and Notes, share many of the same options of this toolbar. First, that all have the “Show For” option. This drop down allows you to filter between items attached to the company specifically, associated with the contacts in the company, or both. The “Dates” option is also found in all the main tabs of a Detail View, allowing you to sort the items shown by any date range. On any of the main tabs you’ll also find a “Select Users” option and a “Show Private” checkbox. These let you filter your tabs based on which users have access to or created the activities, as well as show any private items created for only specific users to see. Every tab also has the ability to customize columns, allowing you to sort the information that is shown in the exact order you’d like. Lastly, each main tab give you an option to create a new event, whether it’s a new activity, opportunity, history, or note.

For the Activities and History tab, the next drop down is the “Types” option. This lets your sort your view by any tpye of Activity or History that can be created. Opportunities instead has the “Status” drop down, sorting based on the status of the opportunity. In the Activities, History, and Notes tabs, you can also search through your lists via a keyword.

These options remain largely similar whether you’re in the Company, Contact, or Group Detail View, however there are some nuances and changes from tab to tab that users will want to explore, and that we may cover in a future blog.
