Advanced Lookup Features in ACT!

Look-ups are a unique feature of Act not found in other CRM’s. There is a particularly useful dozen you will find that all start with the word “Any” followed by fields that appear multiple times in the Contact table like Phone, Email, Address etc.

New Support Options Beginning October 1st!

Save Time and Steps With The Lookup Previous Shortcut!

This month’s Act Tip focuses on the “Previous Lookup” capability! This feature saves the last 9 look ups of the Contact Table from almost all Act screens.

Create a “dynamic group” to easily find incomplete contact records.

Create a dynamic group for staff members to easily find and fix incomplete contact records before important mailings. Create View Groups. Click Groups, New Group. Click Groups, Add/Remove Groups. Add the following criteria paying special attention to the “parenthesis” and “OR” commands. Users can select the group and create a lookup to quickly find and edit the relevant contact records.

Use the activity “roll over” feature to make sure uncompleted activities don’t fall through the cracks.

Set the “roll over” option on phone calls, to-dos, and other custom activities so uncompleted activities are always on today’s calendar. Click Tools, Preferences, select the Calendar & Activities tab. Click the Activity Preferences button. Select the appropriate activity type and click the “Automatically roll over to today” checkbox. Click OK.

Act! Marketing Automation (AMA)

Act! Marketing Automation (AMA) is available as an option for companies who have an Act! Premium subscription. The pricing for each version is based on the number of e-mails you can send per month to unlimited Contacts & the amount of features available. You will be able to increase the number of e-mails in blocks of 2500 e-mails for $15. At some point it becomes cheaper to jump to the next level where you will also get all the additional features. Important Act! Licensing Info

If you have already done your update or upgrade, and have a new 30 character license number when you check for it in About Act, congratulations, you are now on the new service and can breathe easy! If you still have a 20 character license number you are still in jeopardy. The old license server was turned off on March 14th 2019. For those of you on a subscription, you will most likely have a problem within the next 3 weeks or so. Anyone who is not on a subscription will ultimately have an issue because of other factors. Spring Release V 21.1 due out in May/June

In February there were Beta Bust meetings for Act! version 21.1 at several locations around the country, as well as a virtual meeting for ACCs who were not near one of the locations. Luckily there is always one here in the Northeast, and Bob always attends. While we are not allowed to share a lot about what is coming in V21.1, there is heavy emphasis on the Premium product utilizing the Web API. A lot will be happening with Insights, Opportunities, Act Companion, and, of course, Act Marketing Automation. There will be a Beta Refresh in March and possibly another in April.
